Call us in your language

You should try to talk with your employer or employee first before calling us if you have a workplace problem. If you can’t do this or you have already tried, you can contact us.

If you want to speak to us in your language you can call the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on 131 450. Tell them which language you speak and give them our phone number, 13 13 94. They will call us for you and interpret your question.

We're open 8 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday (except for public holidays).

For more information, visit TIS National.

Make an anonymous report in your language

If you know a workplace that isn’t doing the right thing but don’t want to get involved, you can make an anonymous report in your language.

You won’t be contacted about your report.

Getting help as a visa holder

If you’re a migrant worker in breach of your visa conditions, you can still ask for our help to receive your minimum entitlements.

Your employer can’t cancel your visa, even if you haven’t followed the rules. Only the Department of Home Affairs can grant, refuse, or cancel visas.

For information on your rights and responsibilities as a visa holder, visit Visa holders and migrants.
