Who the Concrete Products Award covers
The Concrete Products Award covers employers in the concrete products industry and their employees who fit within the classifications of the award.
The concrete products industry means fabricating or manufacturing cement or concrete products including:
- concrete panels
- concrete pipes
- monier or concrete tubs
- baths
- sinks
- ventilating shafts
- troughs
- blocks
- rollers
- tiles
- pavers
- slabs
- gutter bridges
- plates
- pile armours
- bridge piles.
It also includes preparing reinforcement of steel or wire to make the above products.
Examples of employers and employees covered by the Concrete Products Award include:
- machine operators (including concrete vibrators, hydraulic flag press, splitter or cuber, automatic tile/ridge, pipe machines and other machines)
- concrete machine operators
- colour mixer/applicator operators
- repairers
- jointers
- mould assemblers or strippers
- reinforcement welding machine operators
- cement moulders
- fork-lift operators
- boiler attendants
- crane chasers
- storemen.
The Concrete Products Award also covers labour hire businesses and their employees who are placed with an organisation in the concrete products industry.
