Casuals don’t get penalty rates for working ordinary hours on a public holiday.

Ordinary hours are 38 hours per week from Monday to Saturday on:

• 5 days, or
• 4 full days and 2 half days (before 12 noon on half days).

Overtime rates apply for work outside of the ordinary hours on a public holiday.
