Rostered days off

A rostered day off (RDO) is a day in a roster period that an employee doesn't have to work.

An employee's day off can be paid or unpaid, depending on how RDOs are set out in an award or registered agreement.

When RDOs are paid, it is because an employee has worked extra hours that add up over a set period of time and this is taken as an RDO.

Real Estate Award

Based on what you've told us, it looks like you're covered by the Real Estate Industry Award 2010 [MA000106].

The Real Estate Award doesn't set out a paid RDO system.

Employees still get days off that they aren't rostered to work, however these days aren’t paid. An employee (other than a casual) has to have at least 1 ½ or 2 days off a week, taken in a row or as 2 or 3 separate periods (comprising one day and two half days).
