Based on what you've told us, it looks like you're covered by the General Retail Industry Award 2010 [MA000004].
Employees who work a 38 hour week can, during a 4 week cycle:
- have a fixed RDO
- have a rotating RDO
- accumulate an RDO.
Employees who accumulate RDOs are entitled to accumulate a maximum of 5 days off over 5 roster cycles.
An employer may agree with the majority of employees to substitute an RDO for another day because of:
- machinery breakdown
- failure or shortage of electrical power
- requirements of the business due to rush orders or
- an emergency situation.
An employee and employer can also agree to bank up to 5 days off owing to them in any 1 year. The banked days may be taken at a time that is convenient to both the employer and employee.
