It’s PayCheck as you know it ... Plus

1 September 2011

The Fair Work Ombudsman today launched a new Online tool to assist calculate wage rates.

PayCheck Plus calculates minimum rates of pay per hour, per shift or per week and is now available.

The new tool takes into account payments for overtime, penalty rates and allowances.

Fair Work Ombudsman Nicholas Wilson says PayCheck Plus combines a number of applications into one easy-to-use resource.

“The ‘Check my pay’ pathway allows a user to find rates of pay for a particular occupation.

There is an option to calculate base rates, allowances and penalty rates for a particular job classification,” he said.

“Once the hourly rate of pay is calculated, a user has the option to calculate pay rates for an individual shift or an entire week’s work.

“Business operators also have the option to ‘Check my payroll’ which calculates pay and penalty rate entitlements for multiple employees, taking into account Modern Awards.”

Mr Wilson says results can then be printed or exported for a detailed breakdown on how they were calculated.

Last financial year the PayCheck tool was accessed 489,866 times and Payroll Check recorded 83,275 visits.

The Fair Work Ombudsman website also has a new-look home page aimed at helping users to access tools and resources they want directly from the homepage.
