PayCheck Plus can automatically calculate certain building & construction industry loadings that apply to an employee’s base rate. These are also called ‘follow the job’ loadings.
What are ‘follow the job’ loadings?
Construction, plumbing and electrical awards may include loadings to an employee’s base rate to compensate them for temporary periods of unemployment between jobs. These are known as ‘follow the job’ loadings. This loading is calculated on an employee’s base rate of pay and any relevant entitlements that apply to their circumstances.
How does PayCheck Plus help with ‘follow the job’ loadings?
If you are covered by one of the awards that has ‘follow the job’ loadings in it, then PayCheck Plus can automatically calculate the follow the job loadings and phasing arrangements.
If you select a modern or pre-modern award that has ‘follow the job’ loadings in it, the system will prompt you to select the allowances that apply to you. PayCheck Plus will then calculate the phased rate of pay for you, inclusive of follow the job entitlements.
Building & construction industry Transitional awards
You will need to use one of our Base rate calculators to work out your pay rate, if you were covered by a federal Transitional Award and one of the following modern awards:
Note: Only Victorian apprentice pay rates are available in the Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers Award Base Rate Calculator.
PayCheck Plus is unable to calculate pay rates for these Transitional Awards at this time.
