Casual employees are not eligible for paid leave under the National Employment Standards.
Example
Stephen has been made redundant. His employer provides him with a redundancy payment and also pays out Stephen’s other entitlements, including the annual leave he is owed. Stephen’s employer pays him the monetary equivalent of four weeks leave. Stephen is unsure if this is the correct amount of leave owed to him. Stephen can use the Leave Calculator to check whether his employer has correctly calculated his outstanding annual leave entitlements.
User tip: An employee whose employment is coming to an end can work out their expected annual leave entitlements by entering the future end date of their employment.
