Additional leave for shift workers

Shiftworkers are entitled to 5 weeks of annual leave (instead of 4 weeks) for every year of service.

If an employee works as a shiftworker for part of the year, they are entitled to an additional half day of annual leave for every month that they work as a shiftworker.

Example

William is a full-time crowd controller for MM Security Services. He works permanent night shift for 6 months of the year and regular day shift for the other 6 months. Every year, William is entitled to 4 weeks annual leave which accumulates progressively. In addition, for each of the months that he works permanent night shift, he accumulates half a day of annual leave – so over 6 months he is entitled to an extra 3 days of annual leave.
