Part-time employees
A part-time employee’s roster, but not their agreed number of hours, can be altered by giving them at least 7 days’ notice in writing, or in the case of an emergency, 48 hours.
Rosters for your part-time staff cannot be changed from week to week or fortnight to fortnight - part-time employees are entitled to predictable hours of work.
Casual employees
Casual hair and beauty employees don’t have an entitlement to predictable hours and can be rostered to work to suit your business’s needs and their personal circumstances (but they may be entitled to additional loadings or penalty rates of pay at certain times of the day and week).
