Casual employees are entitled to an hourly casual loading for every hour that they work. The casual loading compensates them for entitlements they do not receive such as paid annual leave and paid personal leave.
Important! Find out more about wages, loadings and penalty rates under the Cleaning Award on the wages & penalty rates section. It is important that you check this information as the Cleaning Award saves some wages, penalty rates and loadings from pre-modern awards and phases in other wages, penalty rates and loadings.
If Schedule A or B of the Cleaning Award doesn’t provide an amount of pay for your casual employees, they are entitled to the minimum hourly rate payable to a full-time employee for the duties they are performing, plus 25%. Casual employees are also entitled to penalty rates for shift and weekend work.
