WA/SA/NT – Cafes, Restaurants and Take Away Foods Audit Program 2012

Campaign summary: Commencing in May 2012, Fair Work Inspectors in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory will be undertaking an audit program focussing on the cafes, restaurants and take away food sectors. The audit program will assess compliance with hourly rates of pay, allowances, record-keeping, payslip and minimum hours of engagement obligations When Fair Work Inspectors visit the businesses to assess their records they will also provide the opportunity for a demonstration on how to use the FWO’s online tools and resources.
SA - South East Tourism Campaign 2012

Campaign summary: Commencing in March 2012, the Fair Work Ombudsman will conduct a compliance program in South Australia’s South East. The program aims to educate hospitality employers on their obligations as well as assess their compliance with hourly rates of pay, minimum hours of engagement, record - keeping and payslip obligations.
Fair Work Inspectors will visit businesses in Millicent, Robe and Beachport. The previous audit program conducted in the region, the Limestone Coast Campaign 2010, resulted in 144 underpaid employees being back paid in excess of $55 000.
SA - Private Hospitals, Aged Care Centres and Nursing Hire Agencies Audit Program 2011

Campaign summary: Commencing in September 2011, Fair Work Inspectors will be conducting audits of private hospitals, aged care centres and nursing hire agencies in metropolitan and regional South Australia.
Specifically inspectors will be assessing compliance with rates of pay. Prior to the audits, industry employers and employees are encouraged to attend one of the information sessions being hosted by the Fair Work Ombudsman.
